Overview
The Avison Young Vancouver office is seeking a Financial Analyst, able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment with a team of senior brokers.
The base salary is aligned with market data and is estimated between $60,000 to $80,000, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors, including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity.
Responsibilities
Produce financial models (using Argus and Excel) of varying complexity, including but not limited to detailed cash-flow/pro-forma projections and development modelsAssist with deal structuring and scheduling and communicating with clients and internal stakeholdersGather and evaluate economic, demographic and real estate market data for input into project specific deliverablesWrite proposals and offering materials for new or existing assignments and pursuits utilizing effective work planning capabilitiesAssist with preparation of presentation and pitch materials for new business pursuitsPrepare research pieces for special events and presentationsConduct market surveys including sales and lease comparableIdentify, analyze and support the pursuit of brokerage opportunitiesAssist with the daily management and workflow of the production pipelineAssist in developing Avison Young’s profile in the market by identifying marketing opportunities, including conferences, speaking engagements and networkingMaintain current and fluid knowledge of regulations and adapt to changes quicklyAssist in reviewing legal documents such as leases, loans, and engagement lettersAssist in ad-hoc work as requiredQualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Economics, Business Finance and/or Real Estate with a strong record of academic achievement and demonstrated quantitative skills3-6 years of industry experience in a sell-side or buy-side capacity, including, but not limited to, commercial real estate investment, finance, investment sales, development, appraisal, or consulting is preferred
Understanding of real estate fundamentals, economic metrics and research processesStrong understanding of financial conceptsAbility to analyze qualitative and quantitative information and translate into strategic deliverablesSuperior grammar and business writing skillsStrong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe CC (InDesign, Photoshop) with experience in Argus considered an assetAttention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to work independently and within a team on a wide variety of projectsAbility to multi-task, work successfully under pressure and effectively manage time and workloadAdvanced internet research capabilitiesProfessional, entrepreneurial, high-energy individual, with aptitude to learn new concepts and softwareRecent work experience in commercial real estate would be considered an assetWorkplace Type
