As our company continues to grow, we are looking for a confident, collaborative, and hands‑on finance leader to join our leadership team as our Finance Controller
.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Founding Director and overseeing a small finance team, the Finance Controller will lead all financial operations and provide strategic direction in support of business growth. This role requires a hands‑on leader who can balance daily execution with long‑term planning.

You Will Be Responsible For
  • Leading full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
  • Overseeing the accounting function, including Billing, A/R, A/P, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Revenue Recognition, etc.
  • Managing and optimizing inventory‑related accounting processes for a high SKU, wholesale environment.
  • Designing and maintaining internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and reporting standards.
  • Preparing and analyzing financial results, reporting insights, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Partnering with leadership to develop achievable departmental and company‑wide strategies.
  • Supporting strategic planning, business case development, and investment decisions.
  • Developing and mentoring the finance team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both rolling up their sleeves in the day‑to‑day and providing financial leadership at the strategic level
.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full accounting cycle with timely, accurate reporting.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and month‑end close processes.
  • Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, and KPI reporting.
  • Implement cost controls and process improvements to optimize financial performance.
  • Develop financial models to support strategy and resource planning.
  • Partner cross‑functionally on key initiatives, projects, and business decisions.
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation, costing, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial data and business information.
Education, Skills, And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • CPA designation (or equivalent) required.
  • 7+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience including financial reporting, budgeting, and analytics.
  • Experience in SAP Business One (FICO) required; strong understanding of cost and inventory accounting.
  • Experience in a wholesale, distribution, or manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, develop, and empower team members.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
