The opportunity
As a Transactions Senior Manager, you will be a professional member of our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team. FAAS operates principally through 4 main pillars:
Enhanced Corporate Reporting & Accounting, Finance Optimization, Treasury Management and Transactions Advisory. We understand the evolving role of the CFO and the Finance function, and work with our clients to automate and streamline efficiency, control, and compliance functions, while simultaneously improving the value Finance provides to the organization.

Your Key Responsibilities
As a Transactions Senior Manager, you will actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships in order to establish and maintain a robust business development funnel for our Transactions service pillar. You will help to develop and expand long-term client relationships and networks, as well as develop relationships with team members across all EY practices to service client needs.

  • Lead external client consulting engagements focused on the planning and execution of Transactions initiatives (including planning and execution of IPOs, and/or the planning and execution of acquisitions and divestitures)
  • Lead business development initiatives including service offering development and roll-out, proposal development, responding to RFX’s and participating in oral presentations
  • Stay informed of changing market conditions and new regulatory developments and their impacts on clients
  • Specialization in our Transactions service offering to provide subject matter expertise and relevant go-to-market activities in this area
  • Manage the financial and commercial aspects of engagements by organizing staffing, tracking fees and communicating issues to project leaders
  • Build strong internal relationships within our national and global FAAS practice and across EY’s service lines including Advisory, Tax and Assurance

People Management Responsibilities

  • Prioritize the development of people through effective coaching, constructive on-the-job feedback and mentoring
  • Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment
  • Effectively motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds
  • Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff
  • Lead/contribute to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training FAAS professionals
  • Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills
  • Understand, follow, and lead by example as it relates to workplace policies and procedures

What we look for:

  • 10+ years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 7+ years of related work experience
  • Professional designation and/or qualification i.e, CA, CPA
  • In depth knowledge in several of: IPO readiness assessment and management of activities across the IPO lifecycle, planning and integration of acquisitions, planning and management of disposals
  • Audit or business experience in financial statement close and the application of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting
  • Technical accounting experience in IFRS and US GAAP
  • Highly developed analytical skills focused on business case and financial modelling
  • Strong spoken and written English skills;
    French language skills is an asset
  • Leading and driving high-quality work products within expected time frames and on budget
