Purpose

The Director will partner closely with Corporate & Investment Bankers to cover clients with revenues greater than $2 billion. They will manage their own portfolio of clients in the assigned industry sector or region while providing oversight of other Directors and Associate Directors covering the same sector or region. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor and single point of contact across all markets, offering dedicated GTB coverage for all products.

The Director will coordinate the global GTB relationship with in‑country subsidiary coverage to provide a consistent and simplified client experience, strengthen existing connections, prospect new ones, and introduce clients to strategic partners as you deliver Scotiabank’s global value proposition and local transaction banking platform.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and drive a customer‑focused culture throughout your portfolio and team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Lead a group of industry sector Directors/Associate Directors to develop and implement strategies to identify and secure new transaction banking business while strategically managing and expanding existing client relationships to maximize revenue growth.
  • Act as the primary transaction banking relationship contact for CFOs, Treasurers, VPs of Finance, and Controllers, providing integrated transaction banking solutions within a consultative and client‑driven framework.
  • Deliver thought leadership to the market, prospects, and clients in collaboration with solution/product partners on all transaction banking related topics at client round tables, industry conferences, webinars, and client events.
  • Ensure a seamless end‑to‑end client experience through effective stakeholder management and collaboration with solutions specialists and business process reviews aligned to key client sales opportunities.
  • Share industry‑leading best practices, ideas, and strategies while partnering with internal product stakeholders to represent the client perspective in product development and evolution.
  • Manage relationship capital allocation, RoRWA returns, and pricing strategy and discussions with internal partners.
  • Collaborate with key partners including Group Treasury, Global Risk Management, Capital Markets, Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Operations, Fulfillment and Servicing.
  • Coaching and developing junior talent.
What You'll Bring
  • 7+ years of transaction banking experience, including global cash management, liquidity management, trade & working capital solutions, and/or corporate or global banking experience.
  • Technical experience in selling and executing on integrated client solutions leveraging the Bank’s third‑party vendor partnerships.
  • Knowledge and understanding of transaction banking products, credit and risk processes, and pricing philosophy.
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record in building relationships with clients and prospects.
  • Proven negotiation and active listening skills, with critical and strategic thinking.
  • Concern for managing operational and enterprise risk.
