The salary range for this position is $56,000 to $66,000 per annum. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.

Your Role:
  • Creating cartographic maps and figures for reports that meet our internal quality standards.
  • Perform spatial analysis for a variety of projects. Projects could include mining developments, renewable energy developments, post construction monitoring and restoration, and remediation and reclamation projects.
  • Use remote sensing techniques, including image analysis and the transfer and incorporation of remotely sensed data into a GIS database.
  • Develop customized applications using programming languages to automate geoprocessing tasks/analysis and deploy web mapping solutions.
  • Identifying, implementing, and managing GIS data for internal and external clients.
  • Creating maps and surveys for field data collection.
  • Creating cross sections and drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Contributing to project cost estimates.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Geographic Information Systems.
  • 1-3 years of experience in GIS (experience in a consulting engineering environment would be considered an asset).
  • Basic level knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Desktop 10.x and ArcGIS Pro, plus other ESRI products and extensions.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of GIS concepts and the principles of cartographic design.
  • Understanding of different types of geographic datasets, including shape files and geodatabases, and the ability to create and edit data in the ArcGIS environment.
  • Understanding of coordinate systems and projections.
  • Experience with web mapping, Arcade, python scripting, remote sensing analysis, and tablet-based data collection applications (such as ArcGIS Online, Field Maps, Survey
    123) are all considered assets.
  • Ability to work independently while being supported by a team that is spread out geographically.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
