Junior Civil​/CAD Technician

We are seeking a Junior Civil/CAD Technician.

Description of Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Junior CAD Technician with 1-3 years of AutoCAD experience to be based in either our Saskatoon, Vancouver, or Calgary office, with a preference for bilingual candidates (proficient in both French and English).

The successful candidate will provide technical support on engineering projects for North American and international clients. Most of the work is related to engineering studies and earthworks construction for proposed and existing mine waste management projects and mine closure related projects.

The position involves the following range of activities:

• Assisting with preparation of design drawings, details, sketches, maps and presentation figures utilizing multiple tools including, but not limited to, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Global Mapper.
• Working with design engineers and CAD technicians in a team environment to help develop engineering solutions.

Essential Requirements:

• Enthusiastic attitude and problem-solving skills;
• A diploma or degree from an accredited drafting program;
• Proficiency in AutoCAD;
• Knowledge in some or all of the following:
  AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and/or Global Mapper;
• Ability to remain task-oriented and meet project deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment;
• Flexibility to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team;
• Excellent oral and written English skills;
• Oral and written French skills would be considered an asset;
• Prior experience in earthworks and/or mining would be considered an asset; and,
• Prior experience with Civil 3D design, point management, and earthworks and material takeoff quantities would be considered an asset.

The estimated base pay range for this position is $63,000 to $70,000. The salary offered will be commensurate with relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.
