KCB is expanding its Power & Transportation group with an opportunity in our Vancouver office for an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer
. You will participate in transportation, hydroelectric, marine and civil infrastructure projects within a multi-discipline project team. In the Vancouver office you will work closely with mentors, internal team members, clients and other stakeholders to hone your design, analysis and project leadership skills.

• Conduct geotechnical site investigations, including field testing and soil sampling.
• Analyze geotechnical data to provide design recommendations for foundations, retaining walls, slope stability, and embankments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide geotechnical input on transportation, hydroelectric, marine, and civil infrastructure projects.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, design specifications, and recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
• Perform geotechnical modeling and analysis using industry-standard software such as Geo Studio, PLAXIS, or similar tools.
• Assist in the preparation of construction documents and provide construction support as required.
• Participate in field inspections and monitoring during construction to ensure design compliance.
• Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and regulatory agencies.
• Support senior engineers and project managers in the coordination and management of projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree is an asset).
• Minimum of 7 years of geotechnical engineering consulting experience, with exposure to transportation, hydroelectric, marine, or civil infrastructure projects.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (e.g., Geo Studio, PLAXIS, gINT, or similar).
• Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and applicable codes and standards.
• Hands-on experience conducting site investigations, soil sampling, and in-situ testing.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Salary for this position is $100,000 to $140,000 per year. Salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level.
