TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for an Electrical Estimator role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.
Responsibilities- Develop project‑specific estimating strategies, schedules, and work plans.
- Maintain and update cost models, rate databases, and estimating tools.
- Present estimate results, methodologies, and major cost drivers to project leadership.
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations and ensure proper scope integration.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to validate scope and align assumptions.
- Participate in estimate reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates, including material takeoffs, labor requirements, and installation methodologies.
- Perform quality reviews on calculations, unit rates, and estimate completeness, support development of junior estimators.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and vendor data to ensure accurate quantities and cost assumptions.
- Preform additional tasks as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in estimating, project engineering, or construction.
- Strong technical understanding of electrical systems and industrial project environments.
- Experience preparing estimates for large, multidisciplinary projects.
- Ability to interpret engineering documentation and translate designs into quantifiable cost elements.
- Skilled in communicating with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, suppliers, and construction personnel.
- Detail‑oriented, able to manage competing deadlines, and comfortable working in a dynamic, schedule‑driven environment.
- Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and construction practices.
