What We Are Seeking
BC Building Science is looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy Team. The main role involves energy modelling for new buildings, and energy audit for existing buildings. The successful candidate will work with a team of mechanical engineers supervised by a professional engineer.
What We Expect From You- Minimum a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Registered / eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training with EGBC. Having a P.Eng. designation is a bonus.
- Minimum two-years experience with IES-VE or a similar hourly energy simulation software tool.
- Field experience with building mechanical systems reviews (energy audit / field review / commissioning of HVAC).
- Good understanding of local building codes, energy modelling guidelines, construction methods / materials, and detailed drawings.
- Excellent communication skills with fluent English – written and oral.
- Execute energy modelling for residential, commercial, and institutional buildings.
- Perform energy audit and commissioning of building energy systems during design and construction / renovation phases.
- Prepare thermal bridging and thermal performance analysis.
- Communication and ongoing design and construction correspondence with related parties including Developers, Designers, Contractors, and Architects.

Salary range: 70,000 - 80,000
