Civil Senior Estimator

Skyline Recruitment is partnering with a leading civil contractor in British Columbia to hire a Senior Estimator.

Our client is a respected, multi-division construction group delivering large, complex infrastructure projects across BC. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimating professional looking to lead major pursuits and play a key role in strategic project delivery.

• Lead the estimating function on large, complex civil construction projects
• Analyze RFPs, RFQs, and SOQs to assess project requirements and risks
• Manage proposal work plans to develop competitive and compliant bids
• Support business development and pursuit strategy initiatives
• Coordinate with owners, designers, JV/alliance partners, and internal teams
• Review alternative technical solutions, value engineering options, and project schedules to optimize proposals
• Attend and lead pursuit meetings, client meetings, and pre-bid conferences
• Conduct estimate risk analyses and present execution strategies during bid reviews
• Act as Estimate Lead on joint venture pursuits
• Assist with contract negotiations through detailed cost breakdowns
• Oversee the transition and handover of successful estimates to project management teams
• Prepare cost reports, expenditure statements, and forecasts

• Minimum 7+ years of estimating and cost control experience in heavy civil construction
• Strong understanding of contractual agreements and risk assessment
• Experience bidding unit price, design-build, or PPP projects considered an asset
• Solid knowledge of utility civil works, earthworks, and surface roadworks on large-scale projects
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management preferred
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, InEight, HCSS, or B2W strongly desired
• Creative, solutions-focused mindset with strong leadership capabilities
