** Role
* * We are seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our Environmental team and play a key role in ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local environmental regulations. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing programs, procedures and systems.  You will play a key role in addressing potential environmental risks, support sustainable operations, and drive continuous improvement.

The role will be based initially at our Winnemucca office but will transition to the Thacker Pass site, located approximately 70 miles northwest of Winnemucca, NV.  The role reports to the Environmental Manager. Occasional travel to other LAC offices, project sites, or vendor locations may be required.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Develop, implement, and manage environmental programs, procedures, projects, and policies in alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements. Develop plans to prevent or mitigate damage to the environment and coordinate response to emergencies such as hydrocarbon spills or chemical leaks
* Perform site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local environmental regulations and applicable permits
* Supervise and mentor environmental technicians, ensuring accuracy in sampling, monitoring, and recordkeeping activities. Collect and analyze environmental data related to air, water, and other media to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
