Mineit Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Principal Mining Engineer to join our leadership team in Vancouver.

This role is ideal for a senior-level mining professional who is ready to:

• Serve as the firm’s “go-to” technical authority
• Lead project execution and ensure technical excellence
• Build and manage strong client relationships
• Mentor and manage a growing engineering team
• Contribute directly to company growth and strategy

Approximately 80% of this role is billable technical work
, with the remainder focused on leadership, client management, and business development.

The Principal Mining Engineer will serve as Mineit’s senior technical leader, responsible for delivering high-quality mining engineering solutions, overseeing project execution, managing technical teams, and acting as a Qualified Person (QP) for NI 43-101 reporting where required.

This role supports Mineit’s continued growth by ensuring excellence in project delivery, strengthening client relationships, and developing a high-performing engineering team.

The role includes accountability for professional judgment, technical sign-off, supervision of engineering work, and ensuring that deliverables meet applicable EGBC Code of Ethics
, quality management, safety, and professional standards in British Columbia and other jurisdictions where projects are executed.

• Provide senior technical oversight for mining studies (Scoping, Pre-Feasibility, Feasibility) for open-pit and underground projects
• Lead mine design, planning, scheduling, and optimization activities
• Conduct mine asset due diligence and evaluations
• Prepare, review, and sign off on technical engineering reports (NI 43-101 or equivalent)
• Act as Qualified Person (QP) where required
• Deliver practical, implementable mining solutions in varied operating environments
• Ensure technical quality and alignment with approved scopes of work
• Utilize industry-standard tools (Deswik preferred; Whittle and Datamine acceptable)

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team (~6 direct reports), including senior mining engineers, senior geologists, senior metallurgists, contract staff, and consultants
• Manage performance and professional development
• Foster a highly engaged, accountable, and collaborative technical team

• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients
• Support proposals and business development initiatives
• Identify new project opportunities and operational improvements
