To meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seekingan Intermediate Mechanical Engineer
to join our teams located
any one of our Canadian offices
with preference for Calgary, AB, Moncton, NB, Kitchener, ON.
Join our vibrant and rapidly expanding team across Canada, where you'll tackle complex energy projects from initial concepts to detailed engineering. As an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer,you will work on mechanical engineering deliverables in collaboration with various disciplines to ensure we meet our project goals.
You will support multiple types of clients (Independent Power Producers, Municipal Electric Utilities, Investor-Owned Utilities, Contractors, and Developers), address their challenges, and implement power grid systems of the future. In doing so, you will get the opportunity to work on a wide range of power plant technologies including biomass, geothermal, hydrogen, renewable natural gas, fossil fuel, carbon capture, battery energy storage, and hydro.

What you can expect to do here:
- Design mechanical piping and equipment for renewable and fossil power generation facilities
- Prepare mechanical equipment and packaged equipment specifications and data sheets, RFQs, and technical bid evaluations
- Review mechanical equipment vendor drawings and data. Interface with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, and detailers/designers.
- Ensure effective communications with other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare construction/installation scopes of work for mechanical systems.
- Participate in the development of PFD’s and P&'s
- Perform piping design activities including sizing, pressure drop calculations, stress analysis, and pipe support design.
- Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- University Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering design experience within the EPCM environment ideally with a focus on industrial facilities
