TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for a Senior Structural Designer role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.
Requirements:
Completion of a recognized two-year technical diploma or equivalent international credential in structural or related engineering disciplines, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience. Candidates without a formal diploma may qualify with 14 years of directly applicable experience.Demonstrated ability to manage personal workload and meet project deadlines effectively.Proficiency with Smart Plant 3D software.Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with engineers, designers, clients, vendors, and contractors.Advanced technical proficiency in structural design, including familiarity with design tools and methodologies.Understanding of applicable building codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks at the local, provincial/state, and national levels.High level of accuracy and attention to detail in design work.Awareness of material specifications, availability, and cost considerations.Proficiency in commonly used software applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, email, and presentation tools.Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the Lead Engineer and other disciplines to ensure cohesive and accurate design execution.Contribute technical expertise to design development and assist junior team members when appropriate.Maintain accountability for personal deliverables and ensure alignment with project schedules.Review and validate design outputs from peers to ensure quality and compliance.Analyze and interpret drawings and vendor documentation from other disciplines, identifying and resolving inconsistencies.Apply relevant codes, standards, and internal procedures throughout all phases of design work.Perform detailed bulk material take-offs and prepare supporting documentation.Execute additional design-related tasks as assigned by the Lead Engineer.
