Geotechnical Engineer

TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to work for our client’s team. Our client is a well-established engineering consultancy with a long-standing reputation for technical excellence and innovation. With multiple years of experience in delivering specialized solutions across infrastructure, energy, and resource sectors, they are known for fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist in proposal development and client communications

Support construction oversight and quality assurance activities

Prepare technical documentation including reports, drawings, and specifications

Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders across disciplines

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineering staff

Perform engineering analyses related to slope stability, foundations, and earthworks

Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and scheduling

Plan and execute site investigations for geotechnical and hydrogeological assessments

Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Geological Engineering

Eligible for professional engineering registration in a Canadian province

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering

Strong analytical skills in soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation design

Experience supporting infrastructure, energy, or resource development projects

Comfortable working in collaborative, multi-disciplinary environments

Willingness to travel for fieldwork, both domestically and internationally
