Job Description Role Summary
Lead the end-to-end AI transformation of IFS Copperleaf’s R&D organization. Drive structural efficiency gains, embed AI-first operating models, and scale automation across engineering, product, design, QA, and sustainment functions. Architect the transition from legacy workflows to a high-performance, AI-augmented delivery engine that materially improves velocity, quality, and cost structure. Serve as the connective tissue between R&D and forward-deployed engineering teams to ensure market-aligned execution.
This Director of AI Engineering Transformation, R&D - Copperleaf role is accountable for unlocking operating leverage, modernizing our development ecosystem, and ensuring Copperleaf’s technology organization continues innovative, competitive, scalable, and cost-efficient.
Key Responsibilities
Build and execute the AI transformation roadmap for R&D, defining automation targets, ROI metrics, and performance benchmarks.Integrate AI-driven development, automated QA, intelligent documentation, and engineering analytics across all delivery streams.Redesign engineering workflows and team structures to operate as a high-performance, AI-augmented organization.Partner with forward-deployed engineers to ensure R&D priorities stay connected to real-world deployment needs.Drive cost optimization by streamlining sustainment through AI-enabled diagnostics, automation, and architectural improvements.Lead organizational change, ensuring successful adoption of new tools, processes, and ways of working.What We’re Offering

Required
10+ years leading engineering, AI, digital transformation, or large-scale technical delivery programs.Demonstrated track record driving enterprise-level AI adoption, automation, and engineering productivity improvements.Proven ability to lead globally distributed engineering organizations, including restructuring and off-/near-shore optimization.Hands-on experience operationalizing AI workflows (AI-assisted development, automated QA, intelligent documentation, engineering analytics).Strong architectural and technical understanding of AI-enabled software development environments.Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value, ROI, and quantifiable performance gains.Demonstrated success leading organizational change, improving cultural maturity, and building high-performance teams.Exceptional communication skills with executive-level presence.Preferred
Experience in enterprise SaaS, industrial AI, or asset-intensive industries.Experience scaling new AI operating models across multiple engineering disciplines.MBA or equivalent business-strategy training.
