Responsibilities Work with the Head of Systems to:
Drive the definition, evolution, verification, and deployment of dependable, safety-critical systems for autonomous vehicle architecture in the airport driving environment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on a cohesive strategy for architecture and integration
Architect solutions for scalability and usability, ensuring robust performance in time- and safety-critical production operations
Oversee end-to-end system integration, collaborating to identify and resolve architectural issues
Lead design reviews and design trade-off analyses
Help to:
Translate key stakeholder needs into tiered system requirements
Define and monitor KPIs for data-driven engineering and system performance
Support FMEA analyses and risk assessments
Mentor engineers in system-level thinking and interface design
Qualifications BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of hands-on experience designing and deploying complex, integrated systems with safety-critical components
Strong knowledge of embedded systems and integration
Demonstrated experience with system documentation, including requirements, architecture and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
Ability to communicate technical issues and solutions across all levels of the organization
Hands-on approach with a willingness to engage deeply and enjoy the work in a fast-paced startup environment with distributed, multidisciplinary teams
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Strong organizational and analytical thinking abilities
Proximity to Atlanta, open to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
Experience developing and deploying autonomous vehicles, autonomous systems, robotics, or ADAS
Experience with DOORS, Jama, Polarion, Enterprise Architect, etc.
Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and networking protocols
Familiarity with safety standards in the development and deployment of complex autonomous systems
Experience with safety in the context of aviation / airline and/or robotics applications
Familiarity with the airside driving environment at major global airports
Experience with cybersecurity (especially for automated vehicles)
Experience with data science and statistical analysis
Located in or willingness to relocate to Atlanta
