Senior Telecommunications Engineer

This hybrid role can be based out of our offices in Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary or Edmonton.
Base pay rangeCA$/yr – CA$/yr
Primary Responsibilities- Deliver telecom system designs and engineering documents for projects.
- Develop schematics, design diagrams, and write project scope, proposals, estimates, and budgets.
- Prepare and review engineering documents, specifications, and inspection & testing procedures.
- Create bill of materials and support ordering through procurement.
- Coordinate, stage and plan installation and commissioning with clients and contractors.
- Travel to site and liaise with internal groups, external contractors, and clients.
- Respond to information requests from sites and complete project documentation, including record drawings, calculations, and project return data.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent, with a Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation or ability to register as a Professional with EGBC.
- 10+ years of experience designing and implementing wired and wireless telecom networks in an EPC/EPCM firm or client/owner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization skills and excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Experience designing networks at OSI layers 1–4 for operation‑critical applications.
- Familiarity with telecom systems and accessories, including:
- Optical transport (DWDM, MPLS‑TP, SONET/SDH)
- Wireless transport (Microwave, Satellite)
- LAN Switching / VLAN
- IP/MPLS
- Firewalling
- Telecom Power System
- Power utility specialized telecom systems:
Tele‑protection, Power Line Carrier (PLC), High Voltage Entrance (HVE). - Radio access systems:
WiMAX, LTE, WiFi, LMR. - Control and Automation systems: PLC, SCADA, IEC‑61850.
- IT/OT convergence.

Compensation for this role is based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications while maintaining internal equity. The level and associated salary may vary depending on the candidate’s profile.
