The expected pay range for this position is $85,000 to $90,000 annually.

The Department of Chemistry of the University of British Columbia Vancouver Campus is seeking to fill a full-time position for an initial two-year term at the Lecturer level starting July 1, 2026 or a date mutually agreed upon
.

The teaching responsibilities for this Lecturer will involve primarily the delivery of first year chemistry lectures, labs and associated course coordination functions and may also include other lecture and lab-based instruction in areas such as organic chemistry and scientific communication. This position requires excellence, technical capability and a passion for engaging undergraduates with regard to communication, chemistry and science. A demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate instruction within the lecture and laboratory settings is essential.

Successful applicants will be able to work independently yet also participate smoothly within a team-based instructional setting, will have proven potential for creating innovative instructional environments, and will be excellent communicators.

The successful candidate should possess a Ph.D. in Chemistry. Previous relevant experience as a sessional lecturer or limited term teaching appointment would be a definite asset.
