Crofton House School is seeking an experienced Music teacher. You will be part of a collaborative teaching team supporting the positive growth and development of young girls in the Junior School. Teaching and learning is guided and enriched by the principles of a student-centred, collaborative approach with an inquiry-based focus to deepen learning for young students.

This is a fixed-term contract to cover a leave of absence.

Responsibilities:

Plan and implement a dynamic choral Music program at the Junior School level (focus on JK-Grade
3)

Establish a strong development of vocal technique in young children

Integrate the revised BC Curriculum

Plan and teach collaboratively with a teaching partner

Enhance the experience for diverse learners

Direct choirs, concerts, and performances

Prepare Music for assemblies

Engage in ongoing teacher professional growth

Participate in a preparation for the Junior School Musical Singin’ in the Rain

Evening performances:

Qualifications, Knowledge,

Experience:

B.C. Ministry of Education Certification

Educational background that highlights Music

Piano and vocal training required

Experience in teaching Music with young children

Independent school experience an asset

Kodaly and/or Orff training an asset

Demonstrated awareness of the learning styles of girls

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively

Demonstrated ability to be innovative and flexible

Employees of Crofton House School receive competitive compensation and support for professional, educational and leadership development. Annual Compensation: $65,869 - $116,734 depending on experience and education level.
