Job Summary
:
The Educational Services Coordinator provides leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of improved programming and continuing education initiatives within the School of Social Work. The incumbent coordinates strategic projects such as the development of a credit‑bearing post‑baccalaureate program and supports faculty chairs on BSW and MSW reaccreditation and renewal cycles. Responsibilities also include advancing strategic priorities through program design, market analysis, stakeholder engagement, coordinating School admissions and logistics, marketing and outreach, course registration, and continuous improvement of learning opportunities for diverse audiences.

Organizational Status
:
Reports to the Administrator for the School of Social Work. Collaborates with the Continuing Education team, academic program staff, and central UBC service units. Works independently with substantial initiative; may supervise student assistants and temporary staff.

Work Performed
  • Implement the development of a credit‑bearing post‑baccalaureate program, including curriculum planning, stakeholder consultation, and market analysis.
  • Administer Senate approval applications for new courses and programs, ensuring compliance and timely submission.
  • Plan and oversee continuing education program delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and quality standards.
  • Manage program reaccreditation timelines and deliverables in consultation with faculty chairs.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation for reaccreditation submissions.
  • Facilitate faculty and stakeholder consultations for program renewal and accreditation reports.
  • Develop and manage tracking systems for accreditation activities.
  • Facilitate curriculum review and revision processes to meet accreditation standards.
  • Analyze and report on student progression, program outcomes, and quality indicators.
  • Provide logistical, operational, and technical oversight of all continuing education programming.
  • Serve as point of contact for CECP outreach and partnership coordination.
  • Develop procedures, schedules, and priorities for CECP administrative processes.
  • Manage program and student records, including enrollment and evaluation reports.
  • Administer program evaluations, implement evaluation frameworks, and work with CECP Coordinator to schedule courses.
  • Coordinate Canvas course delivery and resolve complex learner technical issues.
  • Conduct market research and environmental scans for new program development.
  • Build relationships with community organizations, professional associations, and industry stakeholders.
  • Research funding and sponsorship opportunities to support student access and program development.
  • Collaborate with Arts Marketing and CECP coordinator on marketing and outreach strategies.
  • Write outreach emails and manage mailing list communications.
  • Administer program budgets and prepare financial reports.
  • Manage site visits and external review processes.
  • Implement recommendations from accreditation bodies for continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Errors in judgment, miscommunication, or administrative inaccuracy could affect program delivery, learner satisfaction, financial integrity, and the School’s reputation. Inaccurate program planning may result in course cancellations, revenue loss, and reduced trust among learners, faculty, and partners. The incumbent must exercise sound judgment and professionalism in dealings with learners, instructors, and stakeholders.

Supervision Received

Works under general supervision of the School Administrator and the Director and closely with the CECP Coordinator. Performs duties with considerable independence and initiative.
