We are seeking an experienced elementary school educator to teach Humanities in the Middle School Program (Grade 6 and
7). You will be part of a collaborative teaching team supporting the positive growth and development of young girls in the Junior School. Teaching and learning is guided and enhanced by the principles of a student‑centred, collaborative approach with an inquiry‑based focus to deepen learning for young students.

This role will run from March – June.

Responsibilities:

• Create a classroom community rich in SEL for Grade 6 girls in a homeroom setting
• Plan the Grade 6 & 7 Humanities Curriculum (English Language Arts and Social Studies) in a team‑based, collaborative approach
• Implement dynamic and interactive lessons
• Consider the diverse needs of students in your planning and teaching, offering a range of entry points and extensions to accommodate the needs of individual learners
• Utilize a variety of assessment techniques that allow for timely, transparent, and strength‑based communication of learning
• Develop a student‑centered, inquiry‑based, and supportive culture for learning
• Integrate technology into teaching and learning in meaningful ways
• Communicate and collaborate with students, parents, teachers and administration to support student learning and well‑being
• Be an active and positive participant in school life including co‑curricular activities
• Support the supervision of students during non‑instructional time
• Participate in wider school‑wide events such as community time, student leadership opportunities and outdoor education experiences

Qualifications:

• B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• Previous experience teaching in a middle school capacity an asset
• Understanding on how to support diverse learning styles at an elementary level
• Collaborative and energetic with a passion for teaching
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to be innovative, flexible, highly organized with attention to detail
• Energy, commitment, and readiness to participate in the co‑curricular program and the diverse life of the school community

Employment and Application Details:

This role is scheduled to start in March 2026.

Compensation: $67,516 – $119,652 depending on experience and education level.
