Academics, Substitute English Teacher
EF Language Abroad is looking for dynamic, interactive, and energetic teachers to join our substitute teaching list for on-call work and short-term teaching assignments as needed. This position requires in-person teaching at our campus and not remote teaching. We value teachers with experience teaching a range of levels and topics and the flexibility to jump into any classroom with enthusiasm!
Curriculum, supplemental resources, and training are provided. EF provides ongoing professional development opportunities to our instructors in the field of English language teaching.

- Have you recently completed TESOL or CELTA training and are looking to put your new skills and training into practice while receiving developmental feedback from experienced, nurturing ESL professionals?
- Are you retired from full-time teaching, yet still yearn for the classroom dynamic of working with students and honing their English language skills?
- Do you possess the ability to think quickly on your feet and connect with a group of teenage and adult learners while using state-of-the-art English language teaching materials to facilitate language acquisition?

The RoleTeach classes with students of varying English proficiency from diverse nationalities utilizing EF’s cutting-edge in-house curriculum and methodology to lead interactive and engaging classes. Add your own “sparkle” to the lesson plans to bring them to life and ensure your students are learning as much as they are having fun. EF provides dedicated face‑to‑face training to ensure that you are prepared for your role.
Our Academic Team will support your professional development as well as provide you with guidance throughout your tenure at the school.
Classes are scheduled weekly on Mondays‑Fridays during the school's operating hours (between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in any field (candidates with higher levels of relevant education will qualify for a higher starting pay rate)
- TESL Canada Level 1 teaching certification (or equivalent TESL qualifications with practicum experience, such as the CELTA)
- 3 months of experience teaching ESL in a classroom setting with 15+ students (Preferred)
- Flexible and ready to adapt to diverse groups of learners
- Enthusiastic, energetic and a natural leader in the classroom
- Experience with standardized ESL exams, such as TOEFL, IELTS, and Cambridge a plus
- Experience teaching English for career development and academic purposes a plus
