** Job Description Summary
** This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless functioning of clinical services across the Faculty of Dentistry. This position combines advanced chairside assistance, sterilization oversight, and inventory coordination with leadership responsibilities that include supervising dental assistants, training new staff, and providing operational relief across all clinical departments. The incumbent will support faculty and students in clinical procedures, uphold infection control standards, manage supply logistics, and serve as a key liaison among faculty, students, patients, and administrative teams.

With a strong emphasis on workflow efficiency, patient care continuity, and clinical learning support, this role is critical to maintaining a high standard of care in a dynamic teaching environment.
** Organizational Status
** This position reports to the Senior Clinic Manager, Resources & Operations, who reports to the Clinic Director. This position will also take direction from the Clinic Operations Administrator.
** Work Performed
*** Provides advanced chairside assistance as required and supports faculty, residents, and students during patient care, including overseeing screenings and assisting with consultations.
* Manages sterilization and dispensary operations, ensuring proper instrument reprocessing, adherence to infection control and safety protocols, and maintenance of operatory cleanliness and ergonomic standards.
* Supervises and mentor dental assistants and technicians, coordinates onboarding and training in clinical protocols and systems, and provides cross-departmental coverage to maintain service continuity.
* Oversees clinical inventory and supply management, including ordering, equipment calibration and maintenance, and contributing input to budget planning related to clinical materials.
* Utilizes Axium, Romexis, and related documentation systems to support clinical operations, maintains and updates clinical protocols and manuals, and coordinates student-patient interactions and chart audits.
* Serves as a liaison between faculty, students, patients, and reception/clerical staff, responding to inquiries from patients and referring dentists to support coordinated care delivery.
* Provides faculty-wide supervisory coverage for CDA functions during absences, leaves, and peak clinic periods, and participates in structured workflow improvement initiatives and conflict mediation processes to optimize clinical and dispensary performance.
** Consequence of Error/Judgement
** This position is largely self
-directed. Any problems would be reported to the Senior Clinic Manager, Resources & Operations. Errors in judgement could affect the smooth operation of the clinic, or could even jeopardize patient safety.

** Works independently under general direction, reports to the Senior Clinic Manager, Resources & Operations who reports to the Clinic Director.

** Supervises lower-level Dental Assistants and Instrument Reprocessing Technicians.
