About the Role:

Legendary Rock 101 is searching for a Part-Time Announcer a rare and exciting opportunity to join one of Canada’s most iconic rock brands.

Reporting to the Program Director, you are a dynamic, engaging broadcaster who lives and breathes great content.

You’re social media savvy, thrive on authentic listener interaction, and bring a fresh, compelling perspective on the world around you.

Your passion for the West Coast is matched only by your deep knowledge of rock music and culture.

Experience in a medium or major market is an asset, but what truly matters is that you’re memorable on-air.

If you’re ready to make your mark at a powerhouse station, we want to hear from you.

You will contribute by:

  • Host and technically produce a multi-hour live show on weekends and provide coverage during staff vacations.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director (or designate) on show development and creative direction.
  • Research, create, and deliver compelling, shareable content that grows audience engagement on-air and online.
  • Apply a strong understanding of PPM methodology and how content drives ratings.
  • Interact confidently and spontaneously with guests, co-hosts, and listeners.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of our audience and how they consume radio across platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with CBSC and CRTC regulations (on-air and digital).
  • Execute commercial logs accurately and professionally.
  • Lead and contribute to social media initiatives tied to the show.
  • Voice commercials, station IDs, and promotional content as required.

Skills and experience you will bring:

  • Post-secondary education in broadcasting, journalism, marketing, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Prior on-air radio experience (required).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with iMedia

    Touch, Vox Pro, Wide Orbit, and Burli (an asset).
  • A natural, dynamic on-air presence with the ability to think quickly and entertain.
  • A disciplined approach to show prep and storytelling.
  • Creativity and confidence producing engaging digital and social content.
  • A relatable personality that connects authentically with the Rock 101 audience and lifestyle.
  • A positive, collaborative mindset, you contribute to both ratings and culture.
