Base pay rangeCA $70,000.00/yr - CA $80,000.00/yr
As a Plate Prep Artist, you will be highly proficient at learning new skills quickly and responding effectively to changes, ensuring the high standards for plate preparation tasks in feature film or episodic shows are consistently met. Your expertise in Nuke and feature film production will ensure continuity and consistency across sequences.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with other Plate Prep Artists, Leads, and Production to ensure the plate preparation needs of the show are met
- Utilize and share core knowledge of 2D image manipulation processes such as denoising, retiming, keying, and plate stitching to achieve and maintain high-quality results
- Provide quality 2D tracking data as required
- Generate accurate articulate roto mattes and use frame-by-frame painting techniques in conjunction with procedural cleanup techniques when called upon
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of film formats, aspect ratios, and pixel aspect ratios
- Ensure quality and consistency across shots and shows
- Receive and implement feedback swiftly and effectively while maintaining production guidelines
- Provide accurate estimates for workflow and schedules
- Degree/Diploma in Digital Arts
- General understanding of 2D Compositing workflows
- Beginner to Intermediate knowledge/experience with Nuke, Mocha, and Silhouette
- Strong written and oral communication skills; a team player
- Strong time management skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision; strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability
- Basic knowledge of photography, traditional art, and film (preferred)
- General understanding of 3D computer graphics (preferred)
