Assistant Site Managers work directly with Site Managers to accomplish whatever day-to-day tasks are required to keep installation progress on job-sites moving. Most often, this includes receiving delivered material and distributing around the job site to be ready for installers to come in and install. Organization and communication are also central to this role as you will need to document what materials were received, where they were put, how progress is coming along on job sites, or any other information the Site Managers may require be monitored.
Assistant Site report to the Field Manager, who facilitates the booking of your time by the various Site Managers. This job involves travel to job sites throughout the lower mainland (Vancouver to Chilliwack) on a daily basis. As a result of heavy involvement with receiving material deliveries, this job is also physically demanding and can have days where overtime is required to get material in place according to project and installation schedules.
Successful candidates will be asked to sign an averaging agreement in accordance with BC law.
Assistant Site Managers do not require any formal certification other than a valid class 5 drivers license with a clean driving abstract. The following skills and abilities are an asset and will set candidates apart:
- Strong information organization skills
- Keen eye for fine details
- Recognizing key information in new and varying formats
- Gathering information for forecasting completions and predicting roadblocks
- General usage of a tablet for recording and reporting information
- Calm under pressure of demanding deadlines and difficult personalities of site superintendents
- Communicating information effectively and efficiently
- Strict adherence to safety protocols that vary from job-site to job-site.
- Applicant from Burnaby/New Westminster/Coquitlam/Vancouver/Surrey/Langley
References related to previous experience with construction or material handling are also a distinguishing asset.
Compensation- $25 / hour starting wage
