Westland Living is a Metro Vancouver-based delveloper, general contractor and construction manager seeking an experienced Senior Construction Estimator to join our growing team. We are looking to fill this position immediately and are seeking a candidate who is ready to contribute from day one.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will take full ownership of the estimating function for public and government contract pursuits. This includes managing the complete bid cycle — from opportunity identification through to final submission — with a particular focus on publicly tendered work.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and comprehensive cost estimates across all construction divisions
- Identify and track public tender opportunities through BC Bid, Bid Central, Biddingo, Bonfire, and all relevant public procurement platforms
- Prepare, organize, and submit all documents requested by the tendering authority in full compliance with bid requirements
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and addenda thoroughly and accurately
- Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Manage bid schedules and ensure all submissions are delivered on time and in proper form
- Support CCDC contract procurement processes as required
- Minimum 5 years of estimating experience within a general contracting environment — this is a firm requirement
- Demonstrated, hands‑on experience bidding publicly tendered work through BC Bid, Bid Central, Biddingo, Bonfire, and similar platforms is mandatory — candidates without this experience will not be considered
- Proven ability to prepare and submit complete bid packages in response to RFPs, RFQs, and Invitations to Tender
- Proficiency across multiple industry estimating platforms including Plan Swift, Bluebeam, Procore, Sage Estimating, or equivalent software
- Strong working knowledge of CCDC contracts and BC public procurement processes
- Exceptional attention to detail and document compliance
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and perform in a lean, fast‑paced environment
This position carries a mandatory six‑month probationary period. Exceptional candidates who demonstrate performance and contribute to awarded contracts prior to the conclusion of the probationary period will be considered for early probation completion.
