Civil contractor seeking a Project Coordinator for infrastructure projects for both private and public clients. Plans, directs, and coordinates engineering and scheduling activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and budget by performing the following duties personally or through collaboration with Site Supervision and Project Teams. In addition, this position will provide assistance with preparation of tenders and estimating as required.

Salary range will be $75,000 - $100,000. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role.

Key Responsibilities of Project Coordinator:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
  • Manage subcontract administration and permanent material supplier through monitoring of correspondence, issue change orders and pay sheet;
  • Issue service agreements for various needs as directed by Project Manager;
  • Coordinate requirements and progress with Structural Design Engineers or other consultants;
  • Review critical picks;
  • Assist Field Engineers with job duties and requirements such as timecard review, invoice processing, JHA etc.;
  • Attend weekly Crew Safety Meeting and Monthly Safety Meeting;
  • Maintain knowledge and enforce Company Safety Policies;
  • Develop good working relationship with Owners, subcontractors and field personnel;
  • Support project with all technical matters and determine outside assistance when needed;
  • Participate in Project Close-Out Report;
  • Set productive, consistent and acceptable work example;
  • Submit monthly pay estimate and subcontract pay vouchers;
  • Track quantities (material/labour) for payment and cost purposes;
  • Code daily labor, purchase orders, subcontractor invoices, costs, quantities, actual expenditures, etc. for tracking in cost system;
  • Calculate material/work quantity requirements (takeoffs); monitor progress, percentage complete per work item;
  • Perform weekly quantity input;
  • Review monthly project fuel log and Master Equipment Log as assigned;
  • Prepare and manage submittals & RFI’s;
  • Review incoming submittal prior to sending to Owner;
  • Update and maintain project baseline & weekly schedules;
  • Maintain documentation to support the Company’s position for claims resolution;
  • Assist / manage workplans, post plans and pre-plan process;
  • Update as-built drawings;
  • Manage permanent material acquisition (inventory upon delivery, etc.);
  • Coordinate and circulate responses to all affected personnel and subcontractors; and
  • Assist in managing environment permits and regulations.
Supervisory Requirements of Project Coordinator:

Supervise Junior Engineering and Project Administrative Staff. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring and training Employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; disciplinary actions; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Required Knowledge and Skills of Project Coordinator:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 7 years construction engineering experience and/or training; or
  • 8 years construction engineering related experience and/or training; and
  • Resource monitoring techniques (i.e. cost accounting, basic estimating) and construction technology, process systems and/or structures experience is preferred.
  • Required Company or Regulatory Certifications; and
  • Required Company HSE Certifications.
