POSITION SUMMARY
The ES Nursery Coordinator works alongside the ES Kids Minister to provide effective support services for gospel ministry to families and their children (aged Birth‑Kindergarten). Support for the Nursery includes managing all scheduling and meetings for Nursery activities, correspondence with Nursery volunteers and parents, curriculum preparation, and classroom maintenance. Someone who will be successful in this role is one who has excellent organizational skills, is motivated, takes initiative, is resourceful, attentive to detail, and someone who leads with a positive attitude.
The ES Nursery Coordinator anticipates needs and joyfully fulfills them with excellence, timeliness, professionalism, and effectiveness in a high‑paced, rapidly‑changing environment. This position requires a high degree of variability and flexibility within a continuously changing and evolving organization. This position reports to and works closely with the ES Kids Minister, and works alongside the ES Kids Ministry Assistant. The ES Nursery Coordinator will be working directly with NGC staff as well as members of the church and volunteers.
This is an hourly, part-time position between 15‑20 hours per week with occasional overtime for large projects or events.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Coordinate Sunday gatherings and volunteer support.
- Manage weekly volunteer scheduling.
- Communicate and work with the Nursery Deacons under the leadership of the Kids Minister.
- Provide Kids Ministry Assistant with up‑to‑date information in order to purchase supplies, snacks, and prepare Nursery classrooms for Sunday morning, including curriculum.
- Organize childcare for events and assist with special projects (including VBS).
- Maintain Nursery communication channels and calendar.
- Maintain Moms & Babies and Moms & Tots Rooms and overall Nursery organization and cleanliness.
- Foster volunteer and parent relations, mitigate concerns, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by Kids Minister.
- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital growing personal relationship with Him.
- A member in good standing at NGC who embraces the mission, vision and DNA of NGC.
- Strong understanding and agreement with the expectations of being a staff member at NGC.
- Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality and professionalism in working with families and children.
