Position: Accountant January 2027 (Co-op)

Balancing classes, exams, and planning your CPA path? We totally get it — we were there not long ago.

As a CPA Co‑op Student on our team
, you’ll jump into real client work, learn from experienced CPAs, and start building the skills you’ll use throughout your career. This isn’t a coffee‑run co‑op — you’ll contribute to meaningful files, ask all the questions you want, and be supported by a team that genuinely wants to see you grow and enjoy your term.

About Manning Elliott

At Manning Elliott, we believe in the power of people. We’re a team of professionals dedicated to providing exceptional accounting, assurance, tax and advisory services, while building lasting relationships with our clients and within our communities. Our culture is built on collaboration, continuous learning, and making a positive impact — for our clients, our people, and the communities we serve.

If you’re looking for a place where you can grow your skills, work with supportive teammates, and build real relationships with clients, you’ll feel at home here.

Co‑op positions available starting in January and May of 2027.

What You’ll Do
  • Jump into real client work across private‑company engagements — no textbook simulations here.
  • Work on assurance, compilations, reviews, and a bit of tax, giving you a wide range of experience in different engagement types.
  • Join seniors and managers during walkthroughs and client discussions to get a feel for how professionals communicate in the real world.
  • Ask questions — seriously, we expect (and encourage!) lots of them.
  • Get hands‑on with the software, tools, and processes our teams use every day, so you’re building real skills from day one.
What You’ll Learn
  • How real assurance, compilation, review, and tax engagements actually work (promise: way more interesting than the textbook examples).
  • How numbers connect to the bigger picture — and how your work helps build accurate, meaningful financial statements.
  • How to use the same accounting software, tools, and processes that full‑time CPAs rely on every day.
  • How to communicate confidently with seniors, managers, and sometimes even clients — even when you’re brand‑new.
  • How to ask great questions, think critically, and problem‑solve when something doesn’t quite add up.
  • How a supportive, tight‑knit team can make your learning curve smoother and your co‑op term a lot more enjoyable.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
  • You’ll be part of a friendly, down‑to‑earth team that genuinely wants you to succeed — and remembers exactly what it’s like to be a student.
  • You’ll get meaningful work, not filler tasks, so you can actually see the impact you’re making.
  • You’ll have support from seniors, managers, and CPAs who love teaching (and never make you feel silly for asking questions).
  • You’ll work closely with seniors, managers, and even partners who stay hands‑on with your learning — giving you real‑time feedback, context, and guidance to help you grow.
  • You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of clients — from small and mid‑size businesses to a mix of industries — all while enjoying the supportive, small‑firm culture that makes it easy to feel included and valued.
  • You’ll enjoy a collaborative, people‑first environment where it’s easy to get to know your team and feel like you belong.
  • You’ll build transferrable skills and confidence that make your next co‑op — or your future full‑time role — way less intimidating and give you real insight into how companies operate.
  • And yes, we like to have fun too — whether it’s casual team moments, shared wins, or just taking a breather together during busy stretches.
