This is where you come in, as an Intermediate Accountant, you'll be primarily focused on executing essential tasks within the monthly accounting close cycle.

This role has been designed to provide coverage for accounting during the busy season and to cover for a returning Particle from leave. Someone who is action-oriented and sees tasks through will thrive in this role.

Why We Need You: This critical, short-term role requires a strong focus on timely and accurate preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for key balance sheet and income statement accounts. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of core accounting concepts, including the chart of accounts, account coding, and US GAAP, and is committed to maintaining high standards of reporting.

About the Finance team: You'll be reporting into the Assistant Controller but part of a larger Finance group that includes: FP&A, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and BIA.

We are a hybrid team - you'll be in the office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Department Finance

What You’ll Do:

Execute accurate and timely completion of month-end closing procedures, including the preparation of various journal entries, account reconciliations, and key continuity schedules.

Focus on the following key areas for journal entries and reconciliations:
Tax (e.g., indirect tax and transfer pricing) Inventory accounting General accruals Advertising and other Sales, General & Administrative (SOGA) expense accounting Logistics accruals Payroll Bank transactions

Contribute to the completion of accurate and timely monthly comparative financial statements.

Liaise with function owners and FP&A to prepare monthly budget vs. actual reporting and perform variance analysis as required.

Complete working papers and ad hoc analysis to ensure the accuracy of the financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and standardized working papers.

Assist in the preparation of tax reconciliation work papers and ensure regulatory filing requirements are met (Indirect Tax, US sales and use tax).

Assist with audits and tax audits by gathering required documentation and providing samples as requested.

Who You Are:

Pursuing a CPA designationor recently designated CPA

1-2 years experience in a previous Intermediate accounting role

Experience in full-cycle accounting

Knowledge of US GAAP

Experience in ERP system such as Net Suite

Proficient with G-suite / Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Experience in Netsuite is an asset

Legally able to work in Canada.

Completion of criminal background check.

The salary range is $74,000 to $80,000. The starting salary will be determined by your transferable skills, knowledge, work experience, and the hiring team’s budget, which is based on business needs, market compensation data, and internal equity
