Intermediate Accountant - (Public Accounting / NTR & Tax / Reviews)
Our client, a mid‑sized public accounting firm is seeking a Staff Accountant. This role specializes in review engagements and other non‑assurance work.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare Notice to Reader financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
- Assist clients with corporate tax planning, preparation, and compliance, ensuring adherence to Canadian tax laws and regulations.
- Manage the preparation and filing of taxes for individuals and businesses, including T1, T2, T4’s and other relevant forms.
- Assist in the completion of review engagements.
- Analyze financial data, interpret trends, and provide meaningful insights and recommendations to clients.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and identifying opportunities for additional services.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.
- Support and mentor junior team members, fostering their professional development.
- Stay current with industry trends, developments, and best practices related to non‑assurance, NTR engagements, and taxes.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Extensive experience in public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations, including experience with T1, T2, T4’s and other relevant forms.
- Proficiency in using accounting and tax software and tools.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple engagements simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Leadership abilities and experience in supporting and mentoring junior team members.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Experience using Case Ware: 1 year (required).
