Property Accountant

We are partnering with a well-established commercial property management firm to identify a Property Accountant to support a portfolio of industrial and commercial assets. This role is ideal for someone with ~2+ years of property accounting experience who is looking to grow within commercial real estate.

Reporting to senior accounting and property management leaders, the Property Accountant will manage full-cycle accounting for assigned properties and act as the key accounting contact for internal stakeholders. You’ll provide accurate financial reporting and support budgeting, forecasting, and recoveries.

• Prepare month-end financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Process management fees, rent rolls, tenant billings, and recoveries (CAM & taxes)
• Prepare tax filings and remittances (GST/PST, non-resident tax)
• Support cash flow reporting, distributions, budgets, and forecasts
• Review AR/AP, assist with tenant inquiries, and ensure accurate coding
• Maintain lease data and recovery matrices within property management systems
• Prepare year-end working papers and liaise with auditors
• Assist with new property setup, dispositions, and special projects as needed

• Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of property management accounting experience
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA considered an asset
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and recoveries
• Strong Excel and general MS Office skills
