Accounting Clerk

The accounting clerk is responsible for providing a variety of day-to-day accounting functions; the main areas of responsibility are managing and processing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Reports to: Director of Finance and Administration
Key
Duties & Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
Process 100-200 accounts payable invoices, credit notes and 20-30 expense reports weekly.Ensure all invoices have been received from a checklist of regular vendors.Ensure all invoices are coded correctly as per the budget.Ensure proper centre allocations for invoices involving shared servicesResolve any billing and payment discrepancies with the vendors.Flag any material differences from previous invoices for the Director of Finance and Administration.Ensure all invoices have been properly reviewed and authorized for payment.Prepare cheques for payment in a timely, but cash-flow effective manner, avoiding any late chargesReview and send payments for approval to authorized signers within a timely manner.Accounts Receivable
Process monthly receivables including parent fees, subsidies, Government grants, contracts, etc.Manage EFT informationFollow up on outstanding payments in a timely mannerFundraising & Tax Receipts
Process and record all donationsIssue charitable tax receiptsAccounting Administration
Assist with monthly reporting and receiptingAssist with budget preparationHelp develop and implement accounting system improvementsAdhoc projects as assignedSummary of Qualifications
Education & Training
A minimum of two years related work experienceCPA candidate an asset, but not required
Job Skills & Abilities
Strong experience with Sage 300 accounting system and Sage AP Automation.Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suiteGood understanding of standard accounting methods and proceduresEffective communication both orally and in writingDemonstrate effective and efficient organization and time management skillsAbility to work with a variety of people in a team environmentFamiliarity with non-profit accounting requirements an assetTerms of Employment
Temporary Contract –January 2026 – March 2027Full Time (37.5 hours per week)$60,000 per annum commensurate with experience, including a comprehensive benefits program.Starting:
