Senior Recruitment Consultant - Taylor Ryan Executive Search PartnersOur client is a well‑established, vertically integrated real estate organization with a large and diversified portfolio across residential, commercial, and mixed‑use assets. They are seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join on an initial long‑term contract with a view to permanency.
This individual will have a unique opportunity to gain experience in various areas of the department while working with seasoned professionals. The Corporate Accounting team works to provide timely and meaningful financial insights to enable the business to analyze performance and make data‑driven decisions.
The Role:
- Oversee full‑cycle accounting and reporting for multiple legal entities, including period‑end close and the preparation of annual ASPE financial statements and related note disclosures.
- Ensure transactions are appropriately documented, accounted for, and reported, including those involving complex legal structures, partnership agreements, and ERP system setup.
- Review, analyze, and resolve intercompany, elimination, and cross‑currency discrepancies.
- Lead the preparation of external audit materials, responding to auditor inquiries and information requests.
- Play an active role in quarterly management reporting and year‑end audit processes through the preparation of assigned schedules.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
The Candidate:
- Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA—CGA, CMA, or CA) or successful completion of the CPA program.
- Minimum of four years of progressive accounting experience within a large, complex organization.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards (ASPE), including accounting practices and consolidation procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively and build strong working relationships across the organization.
- Highly detail‑oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Thrives in a fast‑paced environment, adapts quickly to new processes, and effectively manages changing priorities.
