Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane; understand the Point of Sale system and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.

Rotate all merchandise according to code dating policies and check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.

Promote trust and respect among team members.

Create a welcoming environment by answering questions regarding products sold and assisting customers.

Maintain knowledge of products sold; respond to questions and make suggestions about products.

Greet, engage, and assist customers.

Inform customers of grocery specials.

Order, label, stock, and inventory merchandise.

Report product ordering, shipping, and pricing discrepancies to management.

Adhere to company limits on cash shortages/overages and work honestly to control loss.

Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (e.g., Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireworks).

Stay current with ads and promotions.

Adhere to all food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.

Ensure safety procedures are followed; report unsafe conditions and accidents.

Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.

Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policies.

Perform physical tasks such as standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and climbing as required.

Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally.

Act with honesty and integrity with customer and business information.

Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.

Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Basic math skills
Ability to complete cashier training
Ability to memorize produce and sale items
Effective communication and reading skills
Must be 18 years old
