Telemetry Registered Nurse - Van Wert, Ohio

This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse (RN) skilled in telemetry care, providing specialized nursing services in a dynamic medical-surgical and telemetry stepdown unit. This role involves managing a diverse patient population with a focus on cardiac care, including chest pain evaluations, congestive heart failure exacerbations, and pre/post cardiac catheterization care. The nursing professional will also manage patients with alcohol detoxification needs in a high-acuity environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin; no pressors required
• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and family members
• Utilize critical thinking to respond to rapidly changing patient conditions
• Serve as a patient advocate in complex care situations, including cardiac and detox patients
• Maintain compliance with nursing standards, hospital policies, and patient safety protocols
• Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives

Desired Experience and Qualifications

• Current RN license with compact state eligibility
• Minimum one year RN experience; six months in an acute care hospital setting preferred
• Certification in Dysrhythmia Exam required; study guide available
• BLS and ACLS certification required; NIH Stroke certification preferred
• Experience with telemetry and cardiac patient care, including pre/post cardiac cath
• Familiarity with Alaris pumps and Hercules beds
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach

Shift Details

• 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Unit secretary available weekdays 7 AM - 3 PM
