Overview

SCHSC – Valley City, ND – Behavioral Health Therapist (Clinician). SIGN ON BONUS - UP TO $14,000. Be part of the solution to the behavioral health crisis. As a team member for the ND Department of Health & Human Services, you will ensure the most vulnerable have access to a high-quality healthcare system in which prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.

Be part of an interdisciplinary team that provides individuals with an opportunity for recovery management so they can live and work independently in their home and community.

In a typical week, you will complete assessments and service plans. You will be involved in organizing, directing, and guiding the care provided by other team members, as well as ongoing monitoring and updates of service recommendations. You will provide skills training, as well as individual, family, and group therapy. You will provide crisis intervention and risk assessments in the office, in the community, and on-call.

You will also provide education and consultation to families, community, interns, and residents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assessments and develop service plans; organize, direct, and guide care with a team; monitor and update service recommendations.
  • Deliver skills training and individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments in office, community, and on-call settings.
  • Offer education and consultation to families, community members, interns, and residents.
  • Travel to clients’ homes and communities as part of service delivery.
Qualifications and Licensure
  • To be considered for the Clinician position, you must have:
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or areas approved by the North Dakota Board of Counseling Examiners and ND licensure as a LCSW or LPCC; OR
  • Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with licensure as LMFT by the ND Board of Marriage and Family Therapy; OR
  • Doctorate in Psychology with ND licensure as a psychologist by the ND Board of Psychologist Examiners.
  • We will consider filling this position as a Human Relations Counselor at a reduced rate, who must have a master’s degree in Counseling and LAPC licensure and be within two years of LPCC licensure; details on licensure status and training hours must be submitted with the application.
  • Or a master’s degree in Social Work with LMSW licensure; OR a master’s degree in Counseling with LPC licensure.
  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.
