ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE
Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store.
As a General Merchandise Expert, you will provide a welcoming experience by greeting guests, engage with guests to help solve their specific needs, and thank guests for shopping cute daily tasks assigned to you by your leader to help achieve goals that align with business priorities including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.
- When guests need assistance, engage with guests in a welcoming way, to help solve their specific needs.
- Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
- Execute daily tasks assigned to you by your leader to help achieve goals that align with business priorities.
- Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures, if certified.
- Execute processes including changing prices to products, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader.
- Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
- Be knowledgeable about the resources, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.

- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.

- Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
- Attention to detail and follow a multi-step processes.
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames.
