Overview
The Veterinarian (DVM) Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a pet hospital. The assistant provides essential support to the veterinarian and ensures the animals' well-being and the client's satisfaction. The ideal candidate has knowledge of basic veterinary care and can effectively relay information to clients in kind and concise manner.
New All Creatures Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned clinic in Vallejo. We are seeking a full-time veterinary assistant to help our owner/medical director with day to day needs. This is more of an administrative job, but there may be times when helping comfort a pet during an exam or treatment is needed.

- Maintain proper documentation and medical records as required by law.
- Comfortable using multiple digital platforms (i.e., Windows, Microsoft, Gmail, and Google Drive). Our software is Idexx Neo, a cloud platform, and we will train you if you have not used this program before.
Administrative Support
- Scheduling Procedures:
Surgeries, ultrasounds, and including appointments. - Correspondence:
Handle incoming and outgoing communication, including emails, phone calls, and mail. - Documentation:
Maintain and organize patient records, medical histories, and other essential documents. - Billing:
Assist with invoicing, processing payments, and managing financial records.
- Client Communication:
Communicate with clients about appointments, procedures, and follow-up care. - Education:
Provide pet care, nutrition, and preventive measures information.
- Preparation:
Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas for procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and supplies are available. - Support During Procedures:
Assist the veterinarian during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
- Basic Care:
Provide primary care for animals. - Medication Administration:
Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Two years related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous Veterinary experience: 1 years or more.
- Previous Client service experience: 1 years or more.
- Enthusiastic and highly reliable.
- People-oriented, Team-oriented & Detail-oriented.
- Adaptable/flexible.
- Autonomous/Independent.
- Able to provide a long-term commitment.

We are a newly constructed and privately owned small animal clinic. Our 2800-square-foot facility has four exam rooms, a large treatment area, a dental suite and a surgery suite. We have two full-time doctors, on-call specialists in internal medicine, cardiology, and surgery.
