We are seeking a proactive Project Manager to oversee the seamless execution of modular construction projects from design to delivery. This role is critical to maintaining client satisfaction, ensuring on-time and on-budget project completion, and advancing our mission to revolutionize sustainable housing through innovative manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and General Contractors, ensuring alignment on project milestones, budgets, and quality standards.
- Manage project budgets up to $20M+, achieving 95%+ adherence to financial targets through proactive cost tracking and value engineering.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, reducing delivery timelines by 15–20% through lean construction principles.
- Lead RFI processes, resolving 100% of design/construction conflicts prior to production.
- Negotiate and execute change orders, minimizing scope creep while preserving client relationships.
- Coordinate consultant site walks, third-party testing, and inspections to meet regulatory requirements (IBC, HUD).
- Oversee document control using BIM/CAD platforms, ensuring 100% accuracy in production-ready plans and specifications.
- Manage submittals, contracts, and field reports, maintaining audit-ready records for all projects.
- Conduct post-project analyses to identify process improvements, targeting 10% efficiency gains per quarter.
- Partner with Engineering, Procurement, and Production teams to resolve constructability issues during design-for-manufacturing (DFM) reviews.
- Collaborate with Accounting to issue progress billings and track payment applications.
- Mentor Project Engineers in document management and stakeholder communication best practices.
- Ensure projects meet company sustainability benchmarks (e.g., material waste reduction =5%, ENERGY STAR compliance).
- Track and report carbon footprint metrics for modular units in collaboration with R&D.
Requirements
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. - Experience:
- 5+ years in construction project management, with 2+ years in modular/prefab environments.
- Proven success managing 3+ concurrent projects ($5M+ each).
- Proficiency in Procore, AutoCAD, or equivalent PM/BIM software.
- Expertise in reading architectural/structural plans and specifications.
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to prioritize 50+ weekly tasks.
- Conflict resolution expertise for client/GC negotiations.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, LEED AP, or DBIA certification.
- Experience with industrialized housing production workflows.
- Knowledge of California building codes and modular certification processes.
- Primary
Location:
Onsite at Vallejo manufacturing facility with visits to client sites. - Travel: 30% for client meetings, site inspections, and industry events.
- Physical Demands:
Office and production floor presence; ability to review modular units onsite.
