Talent Manager, Employee Relations
We are looking for an HR Generalist to join our team in Vallejo, CA.
Job DescriptionThe HR Generalist partners with and supports the Regional HR Manager in serving staff and managers for their assigned region. The primary focus of the role is to provide staff with an exceptional and supportive experience in every interaction with HR, including onboarding, performance management, job descriptions, job changes, employee relations, training, compliance, and more.
What You’ll Do Staff Relations- Promote positive relationships by visiting branches/teams and building trust with staff and managers.
- Respond to staff questions promptly with the highest level of customer service.
- Coordinate the new hire orientation process, including scheduling, presenter coordination, follow‑up, and sometimes presenting HR overview sessions.
- Coordinate the offboarding process for departing staff, including exit interviews, guidance to managers, and collection of separation documentation.
- Support the Regional HR Manager in handling employee relations issues, interpreting People Policies, and implementing best practices. Draft counseling/disciplinary memos, Performance Improvement Plans (PIP), and maintain records of all employee documents.
- Assist with job description management, drafting descriptions and requisitions for new roles.
- Support the annual performance review cycle and Intro Review Process for all new hires.
- Oversee the HRIS onboarding process for all new hires, ensuring completion of pre‑hire activities and monitoring paperwork.
- Process new hires into the HRIS system, complete I‑9 documentation, and ensure timely eVerify submission where applicable.
- Ensure all staff status changes are captured in the HRIS, prepare necessary paperwork, and monitor updates.
- Organize service awards and support staff appreciation events.
- Ensure all worksites have updated labor posters and other required advisories.
- Track and assist with renewal of work authorizations.
- Track unemployment claims and craft organizational responses with HR Managers.
- Participate in HR related projects as needed.
- Attend conferences, webinars, and trainings to stay current on legal developments and employment laws.
- Maintain all physical and digital staff files for the region.
- Perform other duties as may be necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive human resources experience, including employee relations or performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with staff.
- Credit union or banking experience is a plus.

- Independent judgment and decision‑making skills.
- Coaching and training experience.
- High level of confidentiality and compliance with federal and state employment laws.
- Strong technical aptitude and proficiency with MS Office and HRIS systems.
- Excellent listening, reading, writing, and detail orientation.
- Strong time‑management and organization skills.
- Customer‑service orientation and ownership of problem resolution.
- Flexibility for occasional overtime and 15‑20% travel.
Salary range: MIN $75,900 – MID 94,900 – MAX 113,900
