OverviewThe Recreation Supervisor at Secure Detention is responsible for implementing and facilitating recreational programs and activities, including sports, leisure, cultural, and therapeutic activities.
Job Responsibilities- Supervises, teaches, and acts as a role model for youth.
- Creates adventure‑based recreational programs and manages various facilities and equipment.
- Knows emergency procedures and maintains TCI, First Aid, CPR, ABC certifications.
- Designs programs for youth with substance abuse and/or mental health challenges.
- Organizational skills: time management and facilitation of recreational programs and workforce development activities.
- Supervises the facility recreation department.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
- 1‑3 years of experience in a similar field.
- Experience with at‑risk youth and/or non‑profit background preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and training skills.
- Ability to work with a culturally and economically diverse population.
- Current valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
