How you make a differenceThe RN in this role manages the sick‑call process for inmate patients at the facility, ensuring timely medical, mental health, or dental services and referring to specialty providers as needed. Collaborate with other providers and follow established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Review and triage inmate sick‑call requests, sorting by emergent and non‑emergent status.
- Maintain a detailed log of all sick‑call requests and ensure policy and accreditation time frames are met.
- Use physician‑approved nursing protocols, document all inmate contacts, and maintain confidentiality of records.
- Refer inmates to medical providers if medically indicated and evaluate symptoms, reactions, and progress.
- Chart and report problems to management for proper evaluation and resolution.
Part‑time RNs needed for Saturday & Sunday sick‑call—day & evening shifts available.
Qualifications & Requirements- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor's degree from an NLN‑approved program; accreditation required.
- Experience: Competence in crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical assessment, medical nursing care, and psychiatric nursing care. (2 years of direct work experience preferred.)
- Licenses/Certifications: Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of the facility and current CPR certification.
