Secure Detention Clinician
The Secure Detention Clinician is responsible for using evidence‑based treatment modalities and assessment tools to be used by the court and to develop a behavioral management plan for youth in care. The goal of the position is to implement clinical treatment plans by facilitating case management services, individual and/or family counseling sessions.
Job Responsibilities- Builds therapeutic relationships, working with youth one on one and with their families.
- Utilizes assessment tools to develop behavior management plans for youth in care.
- Implements evidence based clinical models to provide counseling for youth in care and their families to build skills for when they are discharged from our services.
- Other related activities may be performed although not listed.
- Ability to implement change including ability to help youth progress towards discharge goals.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills required including listening and consultation skills.
- Demonstrated organizational, time management and prioritization skills required.
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills including MS Office suite and other database programs.
- Ability to provide and practice trauma‑informed care services and modalities by actively using empathy and understanding in treatment of individuals or other tasks assigned.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with extreme discretion, demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA regulations, and an understanding of agency policies and ethics.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment in a fast‑paced culture; must be able to adapt to a changing environment.
- Ability to work with economically and culturally diverse population.
- LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LCAT required.
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling or related field.
- Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience working with the population served.
- Knowledge of juvenile justice systems preferred.
- Must have a clean valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
