Overview
Wiregrass Georgia Technical College is seeking a part-time Bookstore Assistant for the Valdosta campus. The role includes cashiering, posting tuition and fee payments to student accounts, stocking shelves, maintaining an orderly and clean environment, handling physical inventories, creating and maintaining vehicle reservations for the Wiregrass Fleet, delivering excellent customer service, and other duties related to the day-to-day operation of the bookstore.
Responsibilities- Cashiering and handling tuition/fee payments for student accounts
- Stocking shelves and maintaining a tidy bookstore environment
- Conducting physical inventories
- Creating and maintaining vehicle reservations for the Wiregrass Fleet
- Providing overall customer service and support for bookstore operations
- Other duties related to daily bookstore operations

Category III – No foreseen exposure to hazardous chemicals/pathogens. This is a part-time position; no overtime is earned. Travel is rarely required.
High School Diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of related work experience
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- A background check and a credit check will be required for the successful candidate
In addition to meeting all other minimum qualifications, the preferred candidate will possess one or more of the following: a Diploma in Accounting, Marketing, or related field and/or equivalent work experience in retail sales, marketing and merchandising with an emphasis on customer service; experience in using point-of-sale systems and inventory control.
Salary & BenefitsSalary is $12.00/hour. This is a part-time position eligible for Teachers Retirement System retirement benefits, with a maximum of 27 hours per week. There is no health or flexible benefits provided, and no promise of full-time employment.
Background & Other ChecksPursuant to college policy, a thorough background investigation, including a criminal history records check and employment history reference checks, will be performed for all candidates offered employment. Other checks such as Motor Vehicle Records may be conducted for any candidate receiving an offer, as well as internal candidates prior to promotion or transfer.
