Assistant Manager II – Family Dollar

Location: 964 N. St. Augustine Rd, Valdosta, Georgia

Responsibilities
  • Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities.
  • Provide positive customer service and address concerns.
  • Organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures.
  • Process corporate directives such as Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey requests, etc.
  • Maintain promotional effectiveness of store‑front fixtures and displays.
  • Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record‑keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
  • Maintain stores and stockroom to company standards and secure all company assets, including cash.
  • Enforce safety guidelines and ensure associates follow policies.
  • Help manager supervise, train, and develop associates.
  • Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and associates.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the store.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store (preferred).
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
  • Ability to work in a high‑energy team environment.
  • Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
