Part-Time Retail Merchandiser

Purpose:

Partner with assigned customers to ensure they have the right products at the right time in the right placement.

• Order products that align with the needs of the customer and effectively display store products.
• Maintain effective business relationships with customers.
• Arrive promptly at customer locations on assigned routes for service.
• Rotate stock and remove out-of-code products.
• Process merchandise returns and issue credits according to company policy.
• Ensure the neat and orderly appearance of UNFI products.
• Provide product and/or delivery notifications to customers.
• Assist in hanging shelf tags and promotional POS/POP materials and resets.
• Sell promotional and sales programs as assigned.
• Perform duties in accordance with HACCP and SQF policies and procedures.
• Follow through on customer product requests.
• Keep management informed of area activities and significant concerns.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Provide backup for other field sales representatives when needed.
• Perform other relevant job duties as required.

• Valid driver's license.
• Auto insurance that meets UNFI requirements.

• Prior customer service experience in a retail setting.
• System implementation preferred.

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Time management skills and attention to detail.
• Basic math abilities.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good judgment needed for occasions of limited supervision.

• Daily travel required and vehicle access essential.
• Ability to get in and out of the car multiple times per day.
• Drive to and from accounts safely under various conditions.
• Setup displays, fixtures, shelving, and products.
• Tolerance of store and warehouse conditions with temperature, dust, and dirt variations.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
