Job Summary

Helping Mamas seeks a motivated, detail-oriented student to join our team as a Program & Development Assistant through a work study program. This part-time role offers hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, program support, donor relations, and volunteer engagement. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about making a difference and gaining real-world experience in the nonprofit sector. This position requires travel to assigned Helping Mama s locations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparing, organizing, and inventorying program supplies (diapers, wipes, hygiene kits, etc.)
  • Assist staff with mobile distribution events and partner agency pickups
  • Assist with partner shopping as needed
  • Research potential donors and grant opportunities
  • Support special campaigns (e.g., diaper drives, fundraising events)
  • Help greet and orient volunteer groups
  • Assist in preparing materials and supplies for volunteer activities
  • Attend weekly check-in meetings with supervisor
  • Help staff front desk
  • Bring in in-kind donations and sort in volunteer room as needed
  • Help with warehouse organization and occasional errands
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Must have Federal Work Study award
  • Must be enrolled a minimum of 6 credits at Georgia Gwinnett College
  • Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment.
  • Must be in good conduct standing with Georgia Gwinnett College and maintain good conduct for the duration of employment.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work sites as required by the position.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
  • Basic computer skills; experience with Excel or databases a plus
Preferred Qualifications
  • Interest in nonprofits, social work, child and family services, or public health
